Rain, Rain Here to Stay

Rain, Rain, here to stay.  That’s our motto here at the Hawaiian Energy Coffee farm.  It seems that the new rain gauge that the owners installed has been recording strong levels for this time of year.  We all watched as the owners struggled to reprogram the rain gauge from millimeters to inches, a three day task. Paper instructions were not enough, owners sought help online at Oregon Scientific Rain Gauges.

Owners were busy these past two days picking a welcome surprise of a early Kona Coffee harvest.

Another reason we praise the rain, it helps the fertilizer that we spread days earlier to activate and transfer its nutrients into the ground to help feed our Kona Coffee Arabica.  Fertilizing this time of the year helps the new beans mature into red Kona Coffee cherry.
