Ka'u Coffee Festival

Pahala - May 14th and 15th

In honor of the coffee farmers in the Ka'u district, the other coffee district on the Big Island.  A celebration of Ka'u coffee - the farmers that grow it, their families and community; the culture of Ka'u; and the magnificent landscape in which Ka'u coffee thrives.  The Ka'u Coffee Festival is a mix of fun and educational events for anyone who loves coffee.

Enjoy entertainment, food, craft booths and informative farm tours. Meet Bull Kailiawa, whose Ka'u coffee took home a Coffee of the Year award in the 2011 Specialty Coffee Association of America's annual international cupping competition; talk story with a host of Ka'u coffee growers; get the lowdown on how to appreciate a good cup of joe during guided coffee tastings by a team of industry experts including Hawai'i's Pete Licata, the newly named top U.S. Barista Champion; and sample entries of the recipe contest. New to this year's festival is a Ka'u Coffee reverse trade mission where specialty coffee guru George Howell and other coffee notables will teach the attributes of the award-winning brew. For a complete list of events and directions, visit the Ka'u Coffee Festival website.
