Kona Coffee Farmers Take On Safeway - Protesting Labeling and Calling for a Boycot

Kona coffee farmers are calling for a boycott of Safeway due to the way the supermarket chain labels its coffee outside of Hawaii.

Hawaii state law calls for the amount of Kona coffee to be disclosed on coffee sold as "Kona Blend".  A Kona Coffee farmer says that Safeway's Select Kona blend sold on the Mainland doesn't say how much Kona coffee is in the blend.

A Safeway spokeswoman told the television station KITV that the company was working on a plan to address the issue by next month.

For the full story and video that includes clips from the picket of the Kona Safeway store visit the KITV website.
