An Amazing Race ~ Oldest Person, and First Centenarian, Finishes Marathon

Hawaiian Energy Sports congratulates Fauja Singh, 100, on his amazing finish in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon.  Mr. Singh has secured his place in the Guiness World Records as the oldest person, and first centenarian, to accomplish a run of this distance.  Singh, a British citizen born in India, crossed the line in just over 8 hours, 11 minutes, beating his personal goal of finishing in 9 hours.

Speaking through his coach and interpreter, Singh said that he was "overjoyed and achieved a lifelong wish".  Singh aims to raise money for local charities, including a children's foundation that provides basic needs. His coach said part of his secret is that eats a diet of mainly tea, toast and curry. He took up running twenty years ago at the age of 80. His training is running about 10 miles a day.

Congratulations, Mr. Singh, you are an inspiration to us all.
