2011 Kona Surf Film Festival

8th Annual Kona Surf Film Festival

December 2 - 3, 2011  l  Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows

Since 2003 The Kona Surf Film Festival has been an exhibition of surf films from around the world.  A benefactor of the Big Island community and beyond, this grassroots event has kept the surf cinema stoke alive.   

FRIDAY:

MAIN SCREEN

  • 4:30(ish) : Live Music by Kimie Miner
  • 5:45 : Short films including Dark Side of the Lens, & Hangs Upon Nothing
  • 6:40 : Come Hell or High Water - with an appearance by stars Mike Stewart and Mark Cunningham
  • 7:45: For the Love (FTL) - with  an appearance by director Cliff Kapono
  • 9-10(ish) Live music by special guests

SUSTAINABLE SCREEN

  • 4:30(ish) : Surfing visuals scored live by Conscious Riddims
  • 6:00 : Live slide show with Lono Humphries and short films
  • 6:45 : Year Zero - with an appearance by cinematographer Scott Soens
  • 7:45 : Surfing visuals scored live by Conscious Riddims
  • 10pm : Afterparty @ Huli Sue's hosted by Organik feat. the Darkroom @ DJ Lacy of the Hot Muffins

SATURDAY

 MAIN SCREEN

  • 4:30(ish) : Live Music by Leche De Tigre
  • 5:45 : the Drifter - with  an appearance by star Rob Machado
  • 7:00 : Leave a Message, Sight/Sound & short films
  • 7:45 : Lost Atlas
  • 9-10(ish) Live Music by special guests

SUSTAINABLE SCREEN

  • 2:00 : Lost and Found
  • 3:30 : Buffalo - with an appearance by director Tom Moore!
  • 4:30 : Surfing visuals scored live by Conscious Riddims
  • 5:45 : Short films including including Nate Tyler pov, Be, and others
  • 6:30 : Come Hell or Highwater,Gum for My Boat, and short films
  • 8:30 : Surfing Visuals scored live by Conscious Riddims
  • 10pm : Afterparty @ Huli Sue's hosted by Organik feat. DJ D1RT33
