Key West Paddleboard Classic

2011 Key West Paddleboard Classic

A celebration of paddling performance and all-around SUP vibe in the tropical setting of Key West, Florida

The Key West Paddleboard Classic is an all-inclusive, diverse event for all paddlers, offering 2 courses : a 12-mile Elite Race and a 4-Mile Open Race.  The divisions are: Standup Paddleboards (stock, 14" and unlimited); Paddleboard (10'6", stock and unlimited); Outrigger (OC1, OC2, OC6); SurfSki; Kayak; and Dory.

Activities of the weekend include:

Friday, May 13th

  • SUP Clinic  3 hours with Starboard Team Rider Ernest “EJ” Johnson and Yolo Team Rider Michael “Westy” Westenberger honing your SUP skills. (limited space)
  • Yolo Board Kick-off Party  Racers and guests are invited.  Hosted by Yolo Board at Swankey Events - snacks, beverages and an amazing location on Duval Street.

Saturday, May 14th

  • Race Day, including awards ceremony celebration.  The post-race celebration at Cowboy Bill's - free drink specials, Cuban cuisine, prize drawings for all participants and special acknowledgement to our top finishers.

Sunday, May 15th

  • Eco-Tour at Lazy Dog Adventures.  Slow down the pace and end your weekend with a leisurely SUP tour through the mangroves and over the coral reef.
  • Fury Snorkel Sail  Give your board a rest and jump in the water on a Fury Snorkel Sail to the reef. Discounted rate.
