Energy Dude in Energy Shot Ingredients, energy shot

There’s a New Shot(z) Coming to Town.  Our detailed looked at the ingredients of Hawaiian Energy Shotz continues with a look at L-arginine.  L-arginine is a chemical building block called “an amino acid.”  L-arginine is a “semi-essential amino acid made by your body, with additional amounts obtained through diet and supplementation.  It is necessary for the body to make proteins. L-arginine is the chemical precursor (converted in the body) to nitric oxide. Nitric oxide causes blood vessels to open wider for improved blood flow. L-arginine also stimulates the release of growth hormone, insulin and other substances in the body, as well as “triggering” the body to make protein.  L-arginine also helps rid the body of ammonia (a waste product)

L-arginine is beneficial for heart and blood vessel conditions, including congestive heart failure, chest pain, high blood pressure and coronary artery disease.  L-arginine is also used for recurrent pain in the legs due to blocked arteries (intermittent impairment in walking, or pain, discomfort or tiredness in the legs that occurs during walking).

L-arginine is also believed to boost the immune system, improve athletic performance and shorten recovery time after surgery.

Due to its effect on blood vessels, L-Arginine is also used for decreased mental capacity in the elderly (senile dementia).

An overview of the benefits of L-arginine:

  • Precursor of nitric oxide;
  • Promotes circulation resulting in improved blood flow;
  • Stimulates the release of growth hormone;
  • Improves immune function;
  • Reduces healing time of injuries;
  • Plays a role in the formation of bone and tendons;
  • Increases muscle mass, while reducing body fat;
  • Reduces risk of blood clots and stroke;
  • Supports normal blood pressure;
  • Improves vascular function for patients with angina;
  • Helps recovery after heart attack;
  • Helps prevent and treat cardiovascular disease; and
  • Helps reduce growth of cancerous tumors.
